EITC / SPE

Did you know that individuals' (not just businesses) PA taxes can be designated specifically to Saint Joseph High School? Taxpayers with income of $115,000 or more can opt to have 90% of their tax liability given to the private school of their choice through the EITC Program.

Several alumni and friends of the  SJHS community are participating in this program and have shared their motivation and experiences in this informational video. Alumnus Mitch Farrell, CPA '14,  begins with a short overview of the EITC program and a few practical examples. Joe and Jennifer (Kaniecki) '89 MacNeil have participated in the program for several years and Rosanne Granieri and David Macpherson, just recently joined the program. We hope this video helps to further explain the EITC program and provide real examples of individual experiences within the SJHS community of participating in it.

The Diocese of Pittsburgh created this informational video  to help explain the Special Purpose Entity program that is available to potential participants through the Diocese. In addition, a non-profit, the Central Pennsylvania Scholarship Fund, also enables PA taxpayers to participate in the state's SPE program. The requirements for participation vary between the two programs. Please contact Mitch Farrell to assist with selecting the right program for your individual situation.

Funds directed to SJHS from this program directly support scholarships for our students. On average 70% of our SJHS students receive financial aid - we simply could not do it without your support in programs such as these. You make it possible for many students to receive a Catholic education - an education based on Gospel values.
